Louis Vuitton Logo

Louis Vuitton is a luxury lifestyle and fashion brand founded in France in 1854 and named after its founder

In its early years, the company focused on the production of high-quality travel cases, and today it has become one of the most famous fashion houses in history, designing clothing collections for men and women, along with iconic accessories and shoes.

The famous fashion brand's visual identity is elegant yet bold and certainly one of the most recognizable around the world. The brand's text-based logo consists of the full wordmark and a monogram, which is also used for the fabric patterns and buckles of the luxury brand's products.

The Louis Vuitton logo is actually a Japanese-inspired floral motif that was created to prevent counterfeiting of the Parisian company's designer luggage. This memorable logo is now synonymous with luxury, sparkle and indulgence, often worn by various celebrities as a statement.

History of the Louis Vuitton Logo

The main design feature of the official Louis Vuitton logo is the LV monogram. It is an italic, serif, capital letter L slightly to the left and below a capital letter V symbolizing the founder's initials.

Below the symbol is also the word “Louis Vuitton.” The brand's logo has hardly changed over time, but in 1997, under designer Marc Jacobs, they decided to use only the monogram and remove the text from advertisements altogether.

Louis Vuitton Brown Logo

The fonts have traditionally been black combined with a white background. although in recent years they have experimented with different colors, most notably the brown monogram. The hand-drawn font, however, has remained the same which is said to be partly inspired by roman fonts.

Louis Vuitton and the famous "LV" monogram is one of the most recognized brand symbols. Often considered one of the most ambitious handbags for elite women, the logo symbolizes power and money.

Louis' son Georges is responsible for creating the logo to honor his late father. The interlocking LVs became one of the most recognizable emblems on the market.

The Louis Vuitton logo has never changed, and protects the authenticity of the company and has become as famous as its clothing, purses, and luggage.
